B.S., Chemistry or Physics/B.S., Engineering

As an engineering student at Seton Hall, you will set yourself apart by graduating with two STEM degrees on your resume. Currently our five-year dual-degree programs allow you to earn your B.S. in physics or chemistry at Seton Hall and a B.S. in engineering from nearby New Jersey Institute of Technology. This program is only available to students entering in fall 2020 or earlier. Currently we are developing a new 3+2 Joint BS/MS in engineering program with Stevens Institute of Technology. This option will be available to all current SHU students and also to incoming fall 2021 freshman. Program options include biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering. You're guaranteed a seat in the program as long as you take the required courses and meet our GPA requirements..

In our Joint Degree Engineering programs, you will have the opportunity to:

At Seton Hall, students fulfill the College of Arts and Sciences’ core curriculum requirements and the department requirements for a degree in physics or chemistry. After three years, you’ll transfer to NJIT to continue your engineering training. Our Ph.D.-holding faculty members are dedicated to the subjects they teach — and engaged in important research projects — but they also get to know you, the student. Expect small classes at Seton Hall, where professors offer individualized attention and classmates become lifelong friends. You’ll work out a personalized course of study with a department adviser, who may modify the program based on your background and objectives.
